Partnership working with Parents

It is important for parents, who know their child best, to be actively involved at all levels, in decisions made about their child. This could be –

  • alerting school to issues or concerns
  • attending meetings
  • being copied into reports and other communications
  • being involved at key points in their child's education

Where parents have a concern about progress or well-being in school, they should talk to the class teacher or SENCo.

Where teachers have any concerns about a child, whether about their progress or their emotional wellbeing, they will discuss it with parents. Any targeted support or interventions will be discussed with parents prior to it being put in place, and information about its impact will be provided at a review either through discussion with the teacher/tutor at open evenings or by written report.
