Safeguarding adults

Safeguarding vulnerable adults is everybody’s business across our city and the Hull Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board site is for the use of everyone, members of the public, volunteers, community groups or professionals. The information and guidance is simple and the site easy to use to find out how to protect a vulnerable adult or report abuse or neglect.

A vulnerable adult is someone who

  • Is over 18
  • has needs for care and support (whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs) and who
  • is experiencing, or is at risk of, abuse or neglect; and
  • as a result of their care and support needs cannot protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect.
