The Local Offer
The Local Offer is a Local Authority's publication of all the provision “they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disabled, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.” (Code of Practice 4.1)
The Local Offer website provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place. It shows families what they can expect from a range of local agencies including education, health and social care.
Hull’s Local Offer website is a one stop shop for families and also professionals; it contains information about services across the city, as well as some national information. SENCOs should us it as a tool for signposting parents to as well as a source of useful information.
The Local Offer website in Hull was designed utilising the views of parents and young people. As services are constantly changing it is very important that everyone keeps their links to the Local Offer and their information up to date. This can be done by using the feedback form here.
