Study Programmes
If you are unable to go straight onto an Apprenticeship for whatever reason, then there are various pre-apprenticeship/study programmes you could consider applying for.
Study Programmes (SP) – study programmes are ideal for young people with few or no grades, who need to improve confidence and/or literacy and numeracy skills.
They can also be targeted at young people who are ready to start an apprenticeship, but don’t have a placement with an employer or who have had little or no work experience. Candidates will work towards achieving a level 2 qualification. Acceptance on to these programmes may be through an initial assessment and/or certain grades may be required. Many study programmes will provide work experience placements. Listed below are SOME of the training providers offering these programmes locally (this list is not exhaustive).
