SEND Assessment and Review team

What do we do?

The SEND Assessment and Review Team is responsible for the Local Authority’s statutory duties relating to the Education, Health and Care Processes. This includes supporting the EHC Needs Assessments of children and young people, preparing any EHC plans which are issued as a result of the assessment process and the reviews of EHC plans.

The team comprises: 

  • The SEND Assessment & Review Team Manager
  • Three SEND Officers
  • Seven full-time equivalent SEND Caseworkers
  • Seven full-time equivalent Assistant SEND Caseworkers
  • Two SEND Service Support Officer
  • A SEND Social Worker (one day per week)

SEND Caseworkers and Assistant Caseworkers are currently assigned to individual learners’ cases based on the educational setting which the learner attends.

Where you are contacting the team regarding a specific learner’s case, it will be helpful to have the name of the SEND Caseworker to hand. This should be found on any letters received from the SEND Assessment and Review Team. Staff will be available between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday (not including bank holidays).

Where the specific case worker is not available at the time of your contact, we will endeavour to get back to you within 3 working days of a phone call and if replying to an email or letter within a maximum of 5 working days.
