All settings strive to provide the best possible education for the learners in their care. They recognise that all children and young people are unique individuals, all with their own interests, strengths, weaknesses and learning needs.

All settings aim for high quality teaching within their classrooms with the appropriate support and challenge in place for all pupils. Despite this any child may have times where they are not making the expected progress in one area or another and classroom practitioners will ensure plans are in place to ensure that the appropriate pupils are supported by suitable differentiation and scaffolding to support pupil progress.

This support which is in place and available for all pupils is often referred to as “universal provision”.
